Watauga Lake is less than an hour from Boone and there is nothing like it in the area. This easternmost TVA lake was created in 1948 and is one of the least developed and most beautiful in the TVA lake system.

There are several marinas and parks located just off Highway 321. They offer boat rentals, overnight camping, boat ramps, food and more. Click here to learn more.

Following are photos from Fathers' Day weekend 2010. The weekend offered a respite from recent afternoon thunderstorms and boats of all types were on the lake.
