![]() Music was provided by the Watauga County High School and Ashe County High School bands. Traditional characters such as Santa Claus and elves were joined by clowns, polar bears and even Daniel Boone. ![]() |
![]() The Horn in the West, Charlie's Smokehouse and Mountainaire Inn represented local businesses with their floats. ![]() |
![]() The Parade was actually just one of several Christmas events in Blowing Rock over the weekend. On Friday at 3 p.m. in Memorial Park events included visits with Santa, hay rides, Christmas caroling, a bonfire and the Lighting of the Town event -- illuminating Main Street's businesses. There was also bluegrass music and free hot chocolate and cider. ![]() |
![]() The mayors of Blowing Rock and Boone were in the parade as was State Representative Cullie Tarleton.

![]() Cloggers, trained and decorated horses of all sizes and even Mrs. Watauga County participated in the event. ![]() |
