Carolina Chocolate Drops

The Carolina Chocolate Drops played both nights at the festival and were glad to return to North Carolina in the midst of a hectic schedule. The stop here gave them the opportunity to perform with local favorite Arthur Grimes and with Rhiannon's sister, Lalenja. 2010 Carlina Chocolate Drops at the Music Fest in Sugar Grove NC near Boone North Carolina

Local lawyer Becca Eggers-Gryder and Amantha Mill were there Friday and set a high standard for local musicians. While members of this group also have "day jobs" the level of their performance is a match for the headliners of this event.

Hay Sugar

Hay Sugar was new to the festival this year and performed both days. The group is from Asheville and, according to their website (see link below):

" Hay Sugar started out as a group of friends wanting to play music together. After a few months and a few road trips, Hay Sugar grew into a band with a love of music and a need to play it and mold it into their own. A few shows led to other opportunities to play popular venues in the State College, Pennsylvania area as well as the Movin’ On Music Festival after winning a competition for a spot on the bill." - HaySugar.com

Snyder Family Band

Back for a second year, the Snyder Family Band earned a standing ovation from an audience mesmerized by the performances of these young musicians. New this year . . . 4 year-old brother Owen, who led the audience in a singalong. He is taking up the banjo and learning from Jens Kruger.
