Carolina Chocolate DropsThe Carolina Chocolate Drops played both nights at the festival and were glad to return to North Carolina in the midst of a hectic schedule. The stop here gave them the opportunity to perform with local favorite Arthur Grimes and with Rhiannon's sister, Lalenja. |
The Kruger BrothersThe Kruger Brothers are the unofficial hosts of the MusicFest 'n Sugar Grove and are always well received by the crowd. In addition, bassist Joel Landsberg performed with Doc and Richard Watson. |
Amantha MillLocal lawyer Becca Eggers-Gryder and Amantha Mill were there Friday and set a high standard for local musicians. While members of this group also have "day jobs" the level of their performance is a match for the headliners of this event. |
Hay SugarHay Sugar was new to the festival this year and performed both days. The group is from Asheville and, according to their website (see link below): " Hay Sugar started out as a group of friends wanting to play music together. After a few months and a few road trips, Hay Sugar grew into a band with a love of music and a need to play it and mold it into their own. A few shows led to other opportunities to play popular venues in the State College, Pennsylvania area as well as the Movin’ On Music Festival after winning a competition for a spot on the bill." - HaySugar.com |
